Director's Corner

A letter from the Director

Dear Students, Colleagues, and Staff,

Welcome to the website for Temple University's Tuttleman Counseling Services (TCS).  TCS has been in operation since 1964 and our staff is more committed than ever to supporting our new and returning students during these unprecedented and challenging times.  We recognize that many students may be struggling right now with anxiety, grief, sadness, confusion, loneliness, and other difficulties in the midst of navigating a global health pandemic, financial hardships, increased social disconnection, and continued racial injustice and unrest.  Whatever struggles you may be experiencing, and regardless of how you'll be learning this semester, TCS is here to help.

TCS offers a wide variety of services to assist students including our resiliency resource center, skills-based groups, yoga and meditation groups, process groups, brief goal-oriented individual counseling, couples counseling, psychiatric evaluations and medication management, and referral services. In addition, we offer consultation for concerned faculty, staff, parents and/or students who are looking for guidance about how to handle a mental health concern involving a Temple University student.

As Temple University continues into the 2020-2021 academic year, we will continue operating from a secure, HIPAA-compliant telemental health platform.  To get started, please click here for information on accessing services.  You may also call our office at 215-204-7276.

I encourage you to continue taking time to explore our website and its various links to resources both on and off campus.

Warmly,

Daniel Dengel, Ph.D.

Interim Director
